Its dimensional slate-inspired appearance gives homes and buildings a distinctive architectural finish while providing the durability, low maintenance and long service life associated with a professionally installed metal roofing system.
Manufactured using the same high-quality base metal found throughout RARE’s roofing product line, Ironstone Slate features a fully interlocking design with concealed fasteners. By keeping the fasteners protected beneath the panels, the system maintains a clean, uninterrupted appearance while helping shield critical fastening points from direct exposure to rain, snow and other outside elements.
Interlocking Hip and Ridge Protection
The Ironstone Slate hip and ridge caps are also designed to interlock. Each cap covers the fasteners of the previously installed cap, creating a secure, continuous and professionally finished roofline. This carefully engineered system provides lasting protection while preserving the authentic appearance of traditional slate roofing.
Flexible Installation Options
Ironstone Slate requires a minimum roof slope of 3:12 and can be installed over several approved roof-deck configurations, including:
- A solid sheeted roof deck
- Partially filled-in skip sheathing
- An existing asphalt-shingle roof, subject to local building codes and installation requirements
These installation options make Ironstone Slate suitable for many new-construction and roof-replacement projects.
